Tudor Heritage Black Bay Ceramic 79210 41mm

Introduced in 2021 as one of a wave of striking movements from Tudor, the Heritage Black Bay Ceramic reference 79210 is a classic Black Bay executed in a ceramic case, with an inset ceramic bezel and an all-new movement: the calibre MT5602-1U. In the same year that Tudor turned to precious metals for its Black Bay 58 releases, the Heritage Black Bay Ceramic snuck into the catalog. While not as memorable as the BB58 Silver or Bronze, which seem to have taken Instagram by storm, the Ceramic is the best and most impressive watch of the bunch. This is the first Tudor watch certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology in Bern (METAS), which in 2015, in collaboration with Omega, developed a new certification standard for wristwatches. METAS certification requires the watch to be Swiss-made and COSC-certified, in addition to passing a series of additional tests. These tests include the watch's accuracy in six positions and at two power reserve levels (100% and 33%), as well as its water resistance, power reserve duration, and, most importantly, its resistance to magnetic fields. The Black Bay Ceramic is resistant to magnetic fields up to at least 15,000 gauss, making it, for all intents and purposes, completely resistant to magnetism in everyday life. Another first for Tudor on the Black Bay Ceramic is the "BLACK BAY" text on the dial at six o'clock. It's the first Black Bay to feature the model name on the dial. Furthermore, the three lines of text down the center of previous Black Bays are now reduced to two, a change that seems to appeal to collectors. While the piece's vintage inspiration is its highlight, the Tudor Black Bay is a thoroughly modern timepiece, measuring 41mm by 13mm and with 200m water resistance, making it a perfect everyday timepiece, ready and prepared for anything that can be thrown at it.
