La manufactura de Schaffhausen, IWC, posee una de las herencias más legítimas y veneradas en la creación de instrumentos de navegación aérea, una historia que comenzó a escribirse con letras de oro a partir de la década de 1930 y que se consolidó de forma mítica con el lanzamiento del Mark XI en 1948 para la Real Fuerza Aérea Británica (RAF). La colección Mark ha evolucionado a lo largo de las décadas manteniéndose fiel a un principio inquebrantable: la máxima funcionalidad técnica y una legibilidad absoluta bajo cualquier circunstancia extrema. El Mark XX representa la depuración contemporánea definitiva de este legendario ADN de aviación, introduciendo sutiles pero cruciales mejoras ergonómicas en la caja y una notable evolución mecánica interna que posiciona a esta pieza como el reloj de herramientas por excelencia para el día a día moderno.

Construido sobre una equilibrada caja de acero inoxidable de 40 mm que ha visto reducido ligeramente su grosor y refinado la curvatura de sus asas para ofrecer una comodidad excepcional en la muñeca, el reloj destaca por su icónica esfera negra de acabado mate. El dial respeta los códigos instrumentales clásicos con grandes numerales arábigos, el célebre triángulo de aviación flanqueado por dos puntos a las 12 en punto y sutiles agujas tipo espada con un generoso revestimiento luminiscente. En su interior late el calibre de manufactura 32111, un movimiento automático de última generación dotado de un sistema de cuerda bidireccional de trinquete y una asombrosa reserva de marcha de 5 días. Complementado con una fina correa de cuero equipada con el práctico sistema de intercambio rápido EasX-CHANGE, representa un ícono de la ingeniería utilitaria con una fuerte presencia intelectual y atemporal.
