The now-iconic Pilot's Watch is a key piece in the IWC collection, featuring a pilot-style dial specially designed to remind the wearer of the golden age of air travel, distinctive for its large, easily legible dial. The Mark XVII Pilot's Watch is powered by the caliber 30110 automatic movement with a power reserve, when fully wound, of approximately 42 hours. With its soft iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields and a front crystal protected against sudden drops in pressure, the watch resumes a tradition established by its historic ancestor, the legendary Mark 11 of the 1940s. This model features a black dial on a stainless steel case and bracelet. It is protected by a sapphire crystal with a Mohs hardness rating of 9 and remains firmly attached to the case in the event of a vacuum, as can occur, for example, when the pressure drops at extreme flight altitudes. The watch is water-resistant to 6 bar.
