Since 2009, Frederique Constant has collaborated with the Riva Historical Society: a Milan-based association founded in 1988, dedicated to the preservation and restoration of classic runabouts designed by sailing enthusiast Carlo Riva. Piero Mario Gibellini and Carlos Riva founded this non-profit organization, whose goal is to preserve the world heritage of this established boat. To celebrate this partnership, Frederique Constant creates a limited-edition Runabout watch each year, inspired by the timeless Runabout boats of the 1920s. These handcrafted wooden speedboats take you on an adventure through the Italian "dolce vita." Both brands share the common values of precise engineering and elegant, timeless designs. The Runabout range features two new automatic models: a 42 mm stainless steel case and a rose gold-plated one. The cases undergo a polishing treatment reminiscent of the lustrous appearance of Runabout boats. Protected by a convex sapphire crystal, the silver-tone dial with a guilloche finish in the center features Frederique Constant's classic hobnail motif, with a central guilloche that breaks up the dial. The Arabic numerals, indexes, and hands are completed with a luminous treatment. The final detail of the dial is the date window at 3 o'clock. The minute hand appears on the outer edge of the dial.
