Tissot's PRX collection has been very popular since its launch in 2021. With the addition of a new dial color, the PRX Powermatic 80 Ice-Blue, Tissot is meeting customer expectations and ticking many boxes. The PRX collection offers Swiss-made movements, decent workmanship, an attractive appearance, antimagnetic properties, a quick-change strap, and a patterned dial at a fair price.

Although the watch wasn't perfect, it was a very consistent offering in the affordable segment. From the outset, the watch was equipped with a quick-change bracelet system, opening the door to more options. They arrived, a little late, but they arrived, with leather and rubber straps. Then came the color updates, first with a dark green dial. Following this, Tissot released two highly desirable quartz editions: a 40mm mint green model and a 35mm ice blue version.

The 40mm Ice-Blue PRX Powermatic 80 edition features a tonneau-shaped stainless steel case, modeled after a vintage 1978 watch, with brushed surfaces and polished details, a raised circular bezel, a relatively slim 10.8mm profile, a slightly large length on the wrist, and a 100m water resistance. The dial uses the same combination of embossed embossing and sunburst brushed effect, with applied baton markers and hands, a decent amount of lume, and a framed date window.

Power comes from the Swatch Group's improved entry-level automatic movement, the Powermatic 80, with an 80-hour power reserve, a 3 Hz frequency, and an anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring. For now, this ice-blue edition comes with the classic integrated steel bracelet, still equipped with its butterfly folding clasp and quick-release pins.

In conclusion, Tissot's PRX collection seems to have hit the right note, with a fresh, well-made, well-equipped, accessible design that responds to market demand. With the addition of the PRX Powermatic 80 Ice-Blue, Tissot demonstrates that it continues to listen to its fans to deliver what they want. The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Ice-Blue dial (ref.
