All the watches we saw at the 2021 US Open
LOFTAn exciting fortnight of tennis that was only matched by the watches on display.
Good old Logan Baker wrote this entertaining post for Hodinkee , which we wanted to share with you in the language of Cervantes. Below are the best parts:
Unlike most other sports, tennis is a solitary activity. When you're on the court playing singles, there's no one with you. Just a racket in your hand, and perhaps a watch on your wrist. Perhaps that's why there's so much crossover appeal between tennis lovers and watch enthusiasts. Or perhaps it's all a marketing ploy to attract the attention of high-net-worth tennis addicts who attend major tournaments. Whatever the cause, there's always plenty of watch spotting during any major tennis tournament, and the final Slam of the year didn't disappoint.

Neither did tennis. This year, an 18-year-old British woman named Emma Raducanu became the first qualifier, male or female, to reach and win a major singles final in the Open Era. She didn't drop a set throughout the tournament. On the men's side, we had another debuting champion, Daniil Medvedev , who won his first major title by defeating heavy favorite Novak Djokovic in three sets. Medvedev is an ambassador for Bovet , while Djokovic spent the 14 days getting to know his new Hublot on his wrist.
We spent those two weeks glued to our couches. For tennis fans, it was one of the best tournaments in recent history, packed with drama, intrigue, incredible tennis, and plenty of watches.
Tennis and watches, what could be better?
