For over 165 years, Vulcain has solidified its reputation as a maker of exceptional watches, with innovations that have set new standards in high-quality mechanical watchmaking. All watches are designed, developed, and produced in its own manufacture in Le Locle, the birthplace of Swiss watchmaking. These precise and timeless timepieces are being revived today to the delight of collectors. Initially, Vulcain's renaissance focused on the worlds of diving and aeronautics, exploring the deep blue seas and vast open skies. Now, it's the turn of the road, as Vulcain is relaunching its universal chronograph, the Chronograph 1970s.
Sporty, elegant, sophisticated
The Vulcain watch collections, developed since 1885, contain original pieces just waiting to be reissued. It was while reviewing catalogs of original products from yesteryear that Guillaume Laidet, Vulcain's consultant in charge of collections and always on the lookout for vintage watches to revive, came across a true sleeping beauty: a 1970s chronograph with a blue dial and gray counters.
The new Chronograph 1970's, measuring 38 mm in diameter and 12.40 mm thick with a "stepped case" , is identical to the original and is destined to please lovers of vintage chronographs. It is available in four dial colors: blue, black, panda silver, and salmon (limited to 50 pieces). The mechanism that powers this watch is the manually wound SW510 M BH mechanical movement, which boasts a remarkable 63-hour power reserve. This feature is highly valued by both the most demanding collectors and those who wear it daily.
