Daniel Pinto talks about LOFT with ISSUE

As we all know, Daniel Pinto is a watch enthusiast who appreciates the beauty and complexity of each piece. He considers himself a true lover of this small but beautiful niche of wristwatches. However, his love and interest in this world didn't emerge overnight; it grew over the years, through travel and experiences, and little by little, he became enamored with this community until it became what it is today. Based on all these experiences and his deep understanding of this world, LOFT was formed.
A brand born from the belief that a watch is much more than an object to tell the time or an accessory to complement your look; it's a universe in itself. Craftsmanship, materials, complications, workmanship, and history are things that only true lovers know how to appreciate in a timepiece. Daniel Pinto is a true watch lover; he created a safe place for all those who share the same passion. At LOFT, you can find a wide variety of the best high-end watches, both new and pre-owned. In conversation with ISSUE, Daniel outlined the first rule to keep in mind when purchasing your first high-end watch: "The most important thing is to buy what you like; forget about what Instagram, the algorithm, or your friends say." He also mentions some more technical elements: "First, think about what you want the watch for, because some people have a more active lifestyle and never want to take it off; they want to shower with it, swim in the pool, go climbing, or play ball. Other people are perhaps more passive and have other hobbies, and are more sedentary, so they don't require as much protection."
As a true watch enthusiast, Daniel has his favorites and a justification for each one. “The first is the Seiko SKX007, which everyone who likes watches knows what it is. It's foolproof, immortal, beautiful, cool, and cheap—I mean, for $250. (…) Another watch I love is the Rolex Submariner, which I wear. It's very common; everyone has one, but classics are classics for a reason. It's ultra-durable, has perfect dimensions, the quality you expect from Rolex, and the tradition of being a watch that has been worn by real divers and commandos for the last 50 years. (…) Another has to be the Omega Speedmaster, perhaps the most famous chronograph in the world. It went to the moon; this is the watch NASA chose to accompany Neil Armstrong on the Apollo space missions.”
Daniel is the Commercial Manager at Saint Honoré, and LOFT is his hobby. He's also a person who "loves reading good journalism" and traveling the world: "I lived in the United States as a kid on an exchange program. I'm an entrepreneur; I love generating businesses, ideas, and teams around something I love. I've done a bit of everything: worked in large and small companies, worked on television, appeared on a reality show, and done a lot of silly things for my age." And if there's one lesson he leaves ISSUE readers with, it's that there's a clock for everyone and that the search process is the best part: "I invite you to discover and investigate; the hunt is 99 percent of the fun."
